05. 12. 2024
On 19 November 2024, the Director of the NPI, Ondřej Svoboda, and the Chairman of the NPI Board, Vladimír Wagner, participated in the ceremonial presentation of the NuPECC Long Range Plan 2024 for European Nuclear Physics at the University Foundation in Brussels. The ceremony was attended by prominent representatives of European institutions involved in nuclear physics, as well as representatives of the European Commission, funding agencies and partner organisations. NuPECC - the Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee - is an expert committee of the European Science Foundation. The main objective of NuPECC is to develop the strategy for European collaboration in nuclear science and to promote nuclear physics and its transdisciplinary use in applications as society benefit.
The NuPECC Long Range Plan has been developed based on input from the European Nuclear Physics community, which consists of nearly 6000 scientists and engineers. The plan aims to establish a cohesive strategy for the fields goals and advancement over the next decade and beyond. V. Wagner is a long-time member and NPI representative in NuPECC and has been significantly involved in the creation of the plan.
