On June 20, 2025, the second edition of the “Day with Theoretical Nuclear Physics” was held at the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Řež, organized by its Department of Theoretical Physics.
The event was aimed at high school seniors interested in physics and undergraduate students from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (FNSPE, CTU) who are considering their future specialization or thesis topics.
One of last year’s participants, Sibyla Řezníčková, later collaborated with Petr Veselý on a research project in the national high school competition (SOČ), and advanced to the national finals.
The program featured lectures on:
- Few-body physics and antikaon–nuclear systems – Nina V. Shevchenko
- Shape optimization in mathematical physics – Vladimir Lotoreichik
- Big Bang nucleosynthesis – Martin Schäfer
- Double beta decay in atomic nuclei – Petr Veselý
- Strangeness in nuclear physics – Daniel Gazda
