ecal23-10 ecal-detektor gadast module krystaly

Czech Republic is an associated member of FAIR since March 2019. Czech research infrastructure FAIR-CZ, included in the Roadmap of Large Infrastructures for Research, Experimental Development and Innovation of the Czech Republic for the years 2016 – 2022, addresses the approach of the Czech Republic to FAIR in general, and access of the Czech communities in nuclear and hadron physics (CBM, HADES, PANDA and NuSTAR), biophysics and radiobiology (APPA), in particular.

The in - kind contributions to FAIR construction will consist of purchase of key equipment for the ECAL detector of HADES, for the PSD detector of CBM spectrometer, for the Electromagnetic PbWO4 calorimeter of PANDA spectrometer, detector modules for GADAST (NuSTAR) and vacuum components for BIOMAT from the APPA pillar.

FAIR–CZ is supported from different public sources:

  • Operational cost, travel expenses for coordinating of the investment done in FAIR, training of students, participation fees in experiments for all participants is supported from the activity for large research infrastructures by MEYS (MEYS projects LM2015049 and LM2018112).
  • A project for in - kind investment and own research was submitted under the call No. 02_16_013 for Research infrastructures, priority axis 1 Operational programme research, development and education, MEYS, project name “Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research - participation of the Czech Republic - OP”, reg. no. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_013/0001677. Following project is called "Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research - participation of the Czech Republic - OP - II.", reg. no. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/18_046/0016066. Both projects are supported by the European Structural and Investment Funds.
  • FAIR is under construction, user information will be made known when the first experiments will be planned.
