The public open day of the Rež research area will take place on November 5, 2022
03. 10. 2022
As usual part of the annual Week of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), open days of the research area in Řež for schools and the public will take place from November 4 to 5, 2022. They are co-organized by two institutes of the CAS – the Nuclear Physics Institute and the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry – together with ÚJV Řež and Research Center Řež.
While Friday is traditionally reserved for schools (and its capacity is already full), Saturday 5 November is intended for the general public. Registration will be launched on October 10 here, and then be sure not to delay – the interest of visitors exceeds our capacity every year.
Registered visitors aged 12 and over will visit three workplaces as part of the chosen route, accompanied and explained (mainly in Czech) by expert guides. For the NPI, it will be possible to visit the new workplace of the AMS laboratory with the MILEA accelerator mass spectrometer in one of the two route.
Framework programme:
1st route:
Research reactor LR-0 (Research Center Řež)
Painting materials and their degradation (IACH of the CAS)
MILEA accelerator mass spectrometer (NPI of the CAS)
2nd route:
Research reactor LVR 15 (Research Center Řež)
Department of Hydrogen Technologies (ÚJV Řež)
Nanomaterials for environmental protection (IACH of the CAS)
