On Wednesday, June 18, the 13th edition of VědaFest — a popular open-air science festival — took place at Vítězné náměstí in Prague. Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (NPI CAS) demonstrated at its booth vacuum experiments, radiation measurements, and a simplified model of a particle accelerator.
The atmosphere of the festival is captured in a report by Czech Television for the morning live broadcast of the Studio 6 program, in which the Institute of Natural Sciences is presented by the scientific secretary of the institute, Dr. Jan Kameník.
VědaFest, which the NPI regularly participates in, is the largest open-air entertaining science festival in the Czech Republic. It is a joint project of the House of Children and Youth of the Capital City of Prague, the University of Chemical Technology (VŠCHT) in Prague, and the Czech Technical University ČVUT).
