Research flight of a plane with unique instruments for cosmic radiation detection
11. 12. 2017

The Department of Radiation Dosimetry of the NPI carried out on 29 November 2017 an international experiment considering on the influence of cosmic radiation in air transport.
Czech experts, together with colleagues from nine countries, compared directly in flight the methods and devices used to measure cosmic radiation. The results will contribute to the development of the most accurate standardized dosimeter to be used on boards of commercial aircraft and will provide valuable insights into further development of air transport safety.
