
Open Day attracted dozens of people again

November Open Day, as a year ago, was organized by the NPI of the CAS, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry (IIC) of the CAS, ÚJV Řež and Research Centre Řež. It was a part of the Science and Technology Week of the CAS.
More precisely, there were two days: on Friday, November 15, the event was organized for more than a hundred high school students and pupils, most groups of them visiting two of the several offered sites.
This year, NPI of the CAS offered a visit to spectroscopy and the developing workplace of nanotechnologies. Part of the spectroscopy site visit was also testing the rightness of the gold chain of one of the students, visitors in nanotechnology site could see even interesting properties of vacuum. Visits to the sites were accompanied by screening of films at the ÚJV Řež Conference Center.
The second of the Open Days, Saturday November 16, was designated to the general public. Dozens of visitors flowed through the area again, visiting three different sites within two circuits, which included (in addition to our sites) the LVR-0 and LVR-15 reactors of the Research Centre Řež, so-called „heavy testing room“ of the ÚJV Řež, and ALMA laboratory, operated by IIC in cooperation with Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
