05. 12. 2022
After a two-year break, the third Czech-French workshop «Barrande» took place on 28 and 29 November 2022 in the premises of the Liblice Castle, a facility of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS). The workshop was focused on Czech-French cooperation in research and development in the field of nuclear physics.
The main organizer was a team composed of members of the SPIRAL2-CZ infrastructure, belonging to the NPI of the CAS, and the French Institute in Prague (IFP) of the Embassy of France in Prague. The event was further supported by the the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commision (CEA), the Grand Accélérateur National d'Ions Lourds (GANIL) facility, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB), the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics (IEAP) of the Czech Technical University in Prague, and by the RadioMedic company.
About four dozen participants from various nuclear fields from the Czech Republic and France gave or listened to lectures, and at the end, within the working groups, they tried to summarize the possibilities of future cooperation, outline visions and identify problems.
As part of the workshop, there was also a meeting of the scientific commission of the IRP NuAG (Nuclear Astrophysics and Grids) virtual laboratory, a joint project of the NPI and GANIL/SPIRAL2, where the results of previous years were evaluated and plans for the future were presented.
