
Scholarship stay supported by the IAEA

Throughout June, the Radioanalytical Methods group of the Department of Neutron and Ion Methods of the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (DNIM) hosted an intern, Yasser Al Senjlawi from the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission - Jordan Training and Research Nuclear Reactor, Ar Ramtha.
The internship, organized through the IAEA, focused on training and practice in radiochemical neutron activation analysis (RNAA) methods, in which RAM uses the LVR-15 reactor (CVŘ s.r.o.) for neutron irradiation. The intern was able to become familiar with several RNAA procedures using various methods of sample decomposition and separation of determined elements after short-term and long-term neutron activation.
Participation in the IAEA fellowship programme represents recognition of the Nuclear Physics Institute’s expertise and long-standing scientific excellence in the field of nuclear analytical chemistry. The opportunity to contribute to the professional training of international specialists within IAEA-led programmes confirms the Institute’s status as a respected centre with both research and educational potential.
