We were at ICHEP 2024
29. 07. 2024
The NPI team consisting of scientists and PhD students from the Department of Nuclear Spectroscopy co-organised the world's largest conference on particle physics, ICHEP 2024. The week-long event, attended by more than 1300 scientists from all over the world, took place from 18 to 24 July 2024 at the Prague Congress Centre.
Doc. Jana Bielčíková was involved in the preparation of the conference programme and was also responsible, together with Dr. Marek Taševský from the FZÚ AV ČR, for the preparation of a panel discussion during which the directors of the world's leading laboratories (CERN /CH/, Fermilab, BNL /USA/, IHEP /China/ and KEK /Japan/) discussed the future of large accelerators. Jana Bielčíková, in addition to preparing the discussion, also moderated the opening plenary session of the conference.
Dr. Filip Křížek led an important group within the Local Organising Committee in charge of communication with sponsors. Filip Křížek also presented his poster at the conference.
Dr. Dagmar Adamová led as convener one of the parallel sessions of the conference, session 14 entitled Computing and Data Handling. As a convener, she was responsible for the selection of abstracts for the conference in this section, the management of the parallel section and will also prepare the conference proceedings for the papers for this section.
For seven decades, the ICHEP (International Conference on High Energy Physics) has been held every two years in different locations. Its main organiser is the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) Commission.
At the national level, in addition to the NPI, the following institutions have participated in the organisation: the Charles University, the Czech Technical University in Prague, the Institute of Physics of the CAS, Palacký University in Olomouc, the Technical University of Liberec and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
