Vladimir Lotoreichik has been awarded the diploma of a Doctor of Sciences

Vladimir Lotoreichik from DTP NPI, an expert in mathematical physics, received the prestigious title of "Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences" from the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Eva Zažímalová, on Wednesday 22 May. The title with the English equivalent of "Research Professor", was awarded to Dr Lotoreichik on the basis of the defence of his thesis entitled "Optimisation and asymptotics of eigenvalues for differential operators with surface interactions". He defended his thesis before the Committee on Nuclear, Subnuclear and Mathematical Physics.

Vladimir Lotoreichik has gained a reputation in the analysis of singular Schrödinger and Dirac operators and in spectral geometry. V. Lotoreichik is the author or co-author of more than 60 journal or conference papers.

According to the rules of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the title DSc. expresses particularly high scientific qualifications, demonstrated by the creation of serious, scientifically original works that are important for the development of research in a particular scientific field and characterise a distinct scientific personality. The title behind the name confirms that the researcher belong to the scientific excellence and pass on their experience and knowledge to the next generation or to the public.
