International Advisory Board

Status of the International Advisory Board (pdf)

The International Advisory Board (IAB) plays a crucial role in shaping the scientific direction and strategic development of the Nuclear Physics Institute (NPI). Comprising experts from leading global institutions, it provides independent evaluations and recommendations that ensure NPI’s research quality, competitiveness, and alignment with international standards.

The IAB assesses scientific outputs, helps refine research priorities, and contributes to long-term planning—guiding NPI in identifying emerging trends and fostering innovation. It also enhances NPI’s global engagement by promoting international collaborations and supporting participation in major scientific initiatives.

In addition, the IAB evaluates the institute’s research environment and governance, advising on improvements to management, funding, and human resources. Through its continuous support, the board strengthens NPI’s role as a leading center for nuclear physics research on a global scale.

Foundations of the current IAB were laid down in 2011, when an International Advisory Board of the NPI large research infrastructure CANAM was founded. In 2020, the board was expanded to cover all topics developed in NPI and later on the IAB was approved by the Academic Council of the CAS.
